The technician coming to pick up luggage from France before transportation methodically unpacked my suitcases to check for forbidden items (that much was planned, and completely justified).
While doing so, they started to set aside a number of items, including all pharmacy medication (apparently medication should travel with their prescription, which was unfortunately with me at the time), along with every single food item. My parent, here to supervise the operation tried to protest, but the technician insisted that food was forbidden by policy, and removed several kilograms of long life food (dark chocolate, saucisson, nougat). This food does not come in violation of the explicit transportation policy (it is not fluid), nor is it forbidden by the UAE custom. As the person supervising luggage packing was not aware of this (my parent), they were not able to argue, and the bags were emptied of all food items without reason. This consists in a completely unwarranted abuse of power from
the technician as well as a violation of the transportation policy, and I am very unsatisfied about this service. Other than that, luggage arrived intact (though partially emptied of the original content), which is satisfactory.Read more
